Abstract [eng] The article deals with family farm business survey results in 2008. The survey object is 1300 family farms of the FADN sample. They were selected by two criteria: economic size and type of farming. A sample farm represented approximately 30 Lithuanian commercial farms. The farms were grouped by type of farming, economic size, UAA area, land quality, farmer’s age, normal and less favorable areas and counties. Data of different groups were compared with each other as well as with the previous year. The farming results per farm were slightly worse than in 2007. Though the total output increased a bit, the growth of input costs was 5 times higher than the growth of output, therefore, the Farm Net Income amounted to only 98-99 per cent of the previous year level. The best results per 1 ha UAA were reached at the horticulture and permanent crop farms. The field crops - grazing livestock combined farms received most of the investment subsidies in 2008.
