This article analyzes the transition of Lithuanian youth from education to the labor market. Over the past decades, the situation of young people in the labor market has deteriorated at the global, regional or country levels. Young people are one of the most vulnerable social groups in the labor market. This article discusses the concept and theoretical aspects of the transition from education to the labor market. For the empirical analysis the data of the Eurostat Labor Force Survey (Eurostat LFS) and the research carried out by Lithuanian researchers "The transition of Lithuanian youth from education system into the labor market: the system of monitoring" (2013) (TRANSMONITOR) were used. The length of the transition from education to the labor market, the trends of participation in the educational system and the labor market, the situation of young people that are not in employment, education and training were analysed. |
