The paper deals with the changes in Lithuania’s foreign trade in agricultural and food products in 2010. Trade results were compared with exports and imports of 2009. The value of export in 2010 amounted 9802 mill. Lt and, compared to 2009, increased by 23%. Imports reached 7935 mill. Lt and enlarged by 19%, whereas turnover improved by 1.2 times. Exports recovered rapidly than imports. The trade balances in 2005-2010 were active, in 2010, compared to 2009, increased by 538 mill. Lt (1,4 times) and amounted 1867 mill. Lt. The share of Lithuanian origin products in the total export of agricultural and food products was 70% (6830 mill. Lt). The largest amounts exported made up Lithuanian origin dairy products, grain, tobacco products, waste of the processing industry and animal feedings, preparations of meat and fish, meat, oil seeds. The share of export to EU countries was 61% and the share of import from them - 85%. Russia, Latvia, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands were the main trade partners (by turnover value). |
