| Abstract [eng] |
The article deals with the tendencies of dairy product supply and demand in 2009-2010. The prices of dairy products increased due to increasing dairy product demand in the developing countries and decreasing supply in Oceania caused by the unfavorable weather conditions. Analyzed changes in the Lithuanian dairy sector are compared to other EU and world countries. In 2010, compared to 2009, milk purchase price in Lithuania increased the most among other in EU member states. Retail price increase was also was one of the fastest. One of the main reasons for this was a large proportion of exported production, which accounted for 50 per cent of the total Lithuanian dairy production. |
