Abstract [eng] |
The article deals with the tendencies of interdependence between the Lithuanian grain and rapeseed purchase prices and the relative expenditure for the production. The impact of these changes on strengthening of grain and rapeseed competitiveness was estimated by correlation and determination analysis. The period of 2003-2010, except 2006, was favorable to the crop sector - the yield and harvest of crops were increasing and the average expenditure per production unit increased relatively slightly. The results of analysis indicated that in crop farms, as the harvest of wheat and barley and rapeseed is increasing, the relative expenditure for the production of one ton of these crops is decreasing and as the harvest is decreasing, the relative expenditure is increasing. The correlation and determination coefficients approved the conclusion that in order to increase the harvest, the crop farms in their short - term and long - term market development strategies should plan ahead and implement the cost - efficient measures. Given that the grain and rapeseed prices are unstable in the local and foreign markets, the yield of crops can increasingly influence the prospects of competitiveness of production in these markets. |
