Abstract [eng] Foreign trade in eggs and its changes over the past three years are analysed in the article. The impact of domestic prices and other factors on the egg export and import is overviewed. The production of and the demand for eggs were growing. Lithuanian eggs were marketable in foreign countries as well. However, in 2007-2009 the balance of foreign trade in poultry eggs noticeably became worse due to the rapidly declining amounts of export. Lithuanian eggs became uncompetitive because of relatively high wholesale prices. Besides, after the demand for eggs increased on the domestic market, the producers could sell larger amounts as well as the amounts imported in 2009 increased. In 2009 due to the increasing competitiveness the prices of eggs went down.
