Abstract [eng] The articles analyses the prices of fruit and berries grown in Lithuania and the factors that determined them in a few latter years. Also there is given an overview of the impact of changes in prices of fruit and berries on this sector. The natural factors have a strong impact on the fruit and berry sector. Eventually, the abundance and quality of the harvest determine the purchase and wholesale prices of fruit and berries. The years 2008 and 2009 were unequally favourable to farms growing fruit and berries. As a result, in 2009 the prices of fruit and berries were changing also differently. In 2009 the purchase prices of apples were the lowest in a few latter years. They did not answer the farmers’ hopes; therefore, they sold smaller amounts of apples expecting the prices to be higher. The purchase price of pears, as compared to the previous years, stayed rather high. The purchase prices of currants were different and depended on a kind of currants. In 2009 black currant was purchased cheaper than in a few previous years, while the purchase price of currants of other kinds went up. The low supply of strawberries caused the higher purchase price in 2009 in comparison with the years 2008 and 2007. The harvest and price situation caused much smaller amounts of fruit and berries exported in 2009 than in the previous year. The imported amounts of fruit and berries also decreased in 2009 as compared to 2008.
