Abstract [eng] The Institute for Ethnic Studies under the Lithuanian Social Research Center permanently carries out monitoring of societal attitudes towards social and ethnic groups including migrants and refugees. This article presents the data of the representative opinion survey in 2015 and makes a comparative analysis of change in societal attitudes towards ethnic and various social groups in 2011-2015. The first part discusses the findings of opinions about refugees, their integration and challenges of their adaptation processes. The second part of this paper examines the prevalence of social distance among majority society and different social and ethnic groups. By integrating questions on population’s willingness to live in neighborhood, work together and rent an apartment this paper argues about the limited change in attitudes towards certain ethnic and social groups in society.
