The authors of the monograph apply interdisciplinary approach to addresses the ethnic processes in Southeastern Lithuania. The chapters address such issues as historical processes shaping current ethnic identities in the region, the images of Polish group constructed in the mass media, the politics of historical memory in the region, the role of educational institutions and non-governmental organizations in the formation of ethnic processes in Southeastern Lithuania. The main empirical data was collected during qualitative sociological research carried by the authors in 2013-2014 in Šalčininkai, Švenčionys, Eišiškės and other places of Southeastern Lithuania, by making scientific literature overview, qualitative mass media research. |
