Abstract [eng] |
The study focuses on wage and income inequality in EU-27 as well as in Norway and the UK. A special focus in the analysis is put on the inequality situation in different industrial relation regimes and country clusters. The main tasks in the study were to discuss the dimensions of inequality and the main factors that cause these inequalities, as well as to analyse the trends in wage and income inequality in EU-27 countries, Norway and the UK. The analysis has shown that income inequality rates have been declining in many EU-27 countries over the past decade. Despite this positive trend, high income inequality still remains in countries that joined the EU in 2004 and later (Baltic countries, Bulgaria, Romania); furthermore, over the last decade, income inequality increased in some high-income countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg. |
